We are extremely lucky to have our own Wildlife Area where our children regularly take part in Forest School.

Forest School is a child-centred inspirational learning process, which offers opportunities for holistic development through regular sessions. It is a long-term programme that supports play, exploration and supported risk taking. It develops confidence and self-esteem through learner inspired, hands-on experiences in a natural setting.

We are passionate about how it inspires a deep and meaningful connection to the world whilst helping learners develop socially, emotionally, spiritually, physically and intellectually. It creates a safe, non-judgemental nurturing place for learners to take risks and flourish in an environment different to the classroom. At Bedale CE Primary School, our ethos of Forest School is based on a fundamental respect for all children to investigate and develop their curiosity about the world around them, whilst being protectors of the planet and the magical things nature provides within it!
